Emergency Procedures
Introduction
As already mentioned from other similar document relative to this, VEGHS is actively maintaining
a full and prompt emergency response
capability to effectively respond to any emergency that might occur during any delivery. It could be in time of good weather
or in a disastrous condition. VEGHS will apply appropriate remediation to the best effort possible to restore back the situation and complete the job that was agreed upon.

Emergency on the road
Accidental collision involving any vehicle or property;
- Do not panic and try to remain calm.
- Asses the situation (recall what happened
and check your condition first then your colleagues). If you are hurt, limit your movement as much as possible until help
arrives.
- Make your self safe as much as possible
(If it is possible, you and your colleague leave the vehicle immediately) and locate your self in a safe distance from the
accident.
- Call police
or ask for Help.
- Call VEGHS
Headquarters and report the accident.
Fire in a building (in delivery site or in haul site);
- Do not panic; remain calm. Asses the situation,
(If yuo are trained in small fire extinguishing, locate and use fire extinguisher if it is a small fire that can be taken
off with fire extinguisher) Or else,
- Make your self safe. Leave the building
immediately.
- Do not take any personal belongings or bags
as these may slow your departure from the building.
- Close the doors along the way out, but not
lock any of it.
- Do not use lifts, take the stairs.
- Do not run, push or overtake other people
as much as possible.
- For the driver waiting in the delivery vehicle,
move the vehicle as far as possible away from the fire.
- Proceed to the nearest designated personnel
assembly area.
Cargo fire or Vehicle engine fire;
- Do not panic;
remain calm. Asses the situation,
- Role of helper
in a small fire, readily locate and use fire extinguisher that is available in your vehicle, and fight the fire.
- Role of the
Driver, if it is possible to move the vehicle into a place where it can create
no or less damage to other property do so, if not, help the helper in fighting the fire,
- However for
the uncontrollable fire, make your self safe. Move away and locate your self in safe location away from the fire.
- Do not take
personal belongings or bags as these may slow your escape.
- Ask for help
and Call police or the nearest fire department in the area.
- Call VEGHS
Headquarters and report the accident
Flood Situation
- Do not panic;
remain calm. Asses the situation,
- Do not attempt
to walk or drive through flooded streets of unknown depth.
- Call VEGHS
headquarters and seek advice. If communication is not possible priority is to retreat and return to the garage if not seek
possible higher ground and securely park the vehicle and call for rescue.
- Do not leave
the vehicle and secure the cargo.
- Communicate
to headquarters whenever possible report the present location and the condition of the road leading to the location.
- Keep self warm
and wait for the storm to pass until the road is passable again.
- VEGHS management
role – The management will send a rescue vehicle as soon as possible to help the stranded crew and delivery.
Delivery Vehicle Breakdown
- Do not panic;
remain calm. Asses the situation.
- If possible
park the delivery truck securely away from the traffic.
- Deploy early
warning safety triangle at least 25 feet at the back of the truck to warn incoming vehicle of the emergency.
- Repair the
trouble as quick as possible (If repairable, such as flat tire, etc).
- If on-site
repair is not possible call VEGHS Headquarters ask for rescue or advice and report the situation indicating the present location
and the condition of the road leading to it.
- Do not leave
the vehicle and secure the cargo.
- VEGHS management
role – The management will right away send a rescue vehicle to help the stranded crew and delivery.
